The project includes the construction of a new railway line (No. 437) and a dedicated siding to serve the port area.

A new railway link is under construction to connect the seaport in Police, Poland, to the national rail network for the first time. The port is Poland’s fifth-largest in terms of size and handling capacity.

Project scope and timeline

The infrastructure contract, valued at approximately EUR 46.2 million, was awarded to Torpol. The investment is being jointly financed by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) and the Police Seaport Authority. The construction works are scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2027.

Railway infrastructure details

The project includes the construction of an electrified railway line connecting the existing Police railway station with the newly planned Police Seaport freight station. The planned works also include the installation of rail traffic control systems.

As part of the road infrastructure adjustments, a new road viaduct will be built over Jasienicka Street to maintain traffic flow and improve safety at the intersection with railway infrastructure.

Railway access to the port

Freight trains currently operate on the Szczecin – Trzebież Szczeciński line, primarily serving the Police Chemia station, which belongs to Grupa Azoty. The construction of the new track section will create a direct rail link to the port’s cargo handling areas.

The planned infrastructure will support rail freight movements to and from the port in Police, allowing for more direct deliveries of raw materials and goods.
