A new service within Germany will begin in September 2024.

Starting September 1, 2024, METRANS will introduce a new direct rail connection between Leipzig Wahren (DUSS) and Bremerhaven (CT1-4). This addition to the METRANS network is a response to the increasing demand for transport services between Leipzig and key German seaports, particularly Bremerhaven.

The new service will offer three weekly trains in each direction. For import operations, cargo loaded at Bremerhaven will depart on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with goods available for pick-up in Leipzig the following day from 3:00 p.m. On the export side, departures from Leipzig are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the requirement for cargo delivery to the Leipzig terminal by 6:30 p.m. on the preceding day.

This expanded schedule aims to streamline the logistics process for customers and provide a more reliable timetable for shipments between these two important hubs.
