ZEDAS GmbH introduces a major innovation in its logistics software zedas®cargo with the launch of AI-powered staff scheduling.

ZEDAS's AI-powered staff scheduling marks a significant advancement for railway undertakings, drastically reducing planning effort and significantly improving resource utilization.

The feature was developed in close cooperation with Hector Rail Germany. At the touch of a button, the system creates ready-to-use personnel schedules and automatically takes into account qualifications, rest periods and absences. The optimizer also automatically plans duty travels—the journey from home or hotel to the place of work.

"What previously took up to 1.5 days of planning time is now completed in just a few minutes by our AI optimizer," explains Chris Richter, Senior Sales Manager for ZEDAS GmbH. "Thanks to intelligent planning, duty travels are minimized, productivity is increased and overtime costs are reduced."

Key benefits at a glance:

  • Reduction in duty travels
  • Over 90% time savings in staff scheduling
  • Balanced weekly working hours leading to lower overtime costs
  • Transfer of planners’ expertise into the AI-based solution,

The new feature will be presented for the first time at transport logistic 2025 in Munich. Visitors can find ZEDAS GmbH in Hall B4, Stand 427.
