CargoMon Systems has secured a contract to supply DB Cargo with solar-powered telematics devices and sensor solutions.
In addition to providing solar-powered tracking devices, CargoMon will offer sensor solutions covering a range of applications. These include precise weighing of freight wagons, detection of flexible containers on special pocket wagons, and accurate GPS localization.
The implementation of these technologies aims to optimize internal production processes and reduce costs, while enabling new services demanded by the market. For instance, real-time weighing via sensors can identify overloading during the loading process, making this information accessible to shippers via smartphone.
Founded in 2009 at the Vienna University of Technology, CargoMon specializes in energy self-sufficient, wireless monitoring systems for the transport and logistics industry.
