The CargoTube initiative uses proven technologies for rapid deployment in freight transport. This system provides an alternative to traditional hyperloop models, is compatible with emerging hyperloop standards and is capable of producing zero direct emissions. IHT's Walter Neu highlighted the role of magnetic propulsion in enabling a contactless levitation system for high speed applications.
Stefan Kirch, Nevomo's Chief Commercial Officer, underlined the strategic importance of this partnership, recalling Europe's missed opportunities in the past to develop ultra-high-speed rail. This collaboration with the Institute of Hyperloop Technology, he said, could restore Europe's position at the forefront of sustainable mobility innovation.
The demonstrator for this technology will showcase MagRail's capabilities in an operational Hyperloop environment, marking a significant step forward in the development of high-speed transport solutions that are both interoperable with existing rail systems and extend multimodality across Europe.
