The partnership will enable Hitachi Rail to use advanced 3D printing technology to produce spare parts using materials such as ULTEM™ 9085 and Carbon PEEK.

ROBOZE announces its collaboration with Hitachi Rail, a pioneer in the railway industry. Hitachi Rail's high-tech factory in Naples, Italy, and its new state-of-the-art digital rail factory in Washington County, Maryland, have chosen the ROBOZE ARGO 500 solution. The solution enables Hitachi Rail to use industrial 3D printing technology to produce train parts using materials such as ULTEM™ 9085 and Carbon PEEK.

The availability and cost of producing spare parts is a constant challenge for the railway industry. ROBOZE's additive manufacturing technology offers a tangible solution to this problem. It enables faster and more cost-effective production compared to traditional machining methods. With the implementation of the ARGO 500 solution, Hitachi Rail can now replace traditionally machined metal parts, with significant reductions in cost and delivery time.

Hitachi Rail is set to open its new state-of-the-art rail car manufacturing plant in Washington County, Maryland. The $70 million factory, whose first order will be the new fleet of 8000-series rail cars for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), will draw on the technological expertise of the entire Hitachi Group to be its most advanced digital site. Through its partnership with ROBOZE, Hitachi Rail will be able to use the company's advanced 3D printing solution for the production of prototypes and railway spare parts.

"The partnership will enable us to use 3D printing to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs in the production of prototypes and railway spare parts. This additive solution will be used at our site in Naples, Italy, and at our new digital factory in Washington County, Maryland, allowing us to effectively respond to our customers' needs," said Luca D'Aquila, COO Hitachi Rail Group and CEO Hitachi Rail Italy.
