In February 2024, ŁKA ordered 4 of the same EMUs, thus, the final fleet will increase by 14 new PESA trains.

The Łódź Agglomeration Railway (Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna - ŁKA) will increase its fleet with the addition of ten new electric trains from PESA. This purchase, costing nearly EUR 81.8 million, aims to improve rail services in the Łódź Province.

The new trains, which are currently being manufactured, are designed to carry up to 350 passengers, with 160 seated. They will include amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and spaces for bicycles and passengers with disabilities. The trains will also feature passenger information systems, ticket machines, and power sockets. The design will reflect the symbols and colors associated with the Łódź Province.

Scheduled to enter service in 2026, the trains will operate at speeds of up to 160 km/h. They will run on key routes within the region, including the cross-city tunnel currently being built in Łódź. This new underground route will connect major stations like Łódź Fabryczna, Łódź Kaliska, and Łódź Żabieniec, aiming to reduce travel times and improve public transport for local residents.

This expansion is part of ongoing efforts to improve the capacity and efficiency of ŁKA’s services. With a current fleet of 39 trains, the addition of these new units is expected to boost service frequency and reliability.
