The crane was mounted as part of an ongoing expansion of handling capacity at the site, located just south of the German capital in the Güterverkehrszentrum (GVZ) Großbeeren.

DUSS has completed the installation of a new 320-tonne portal crane at its intermodal terminal in Berlin-Großbeeren.

The addition brings the total number of portal cranes at the terminal to three. According to DUSS, the new equipment is fitted with updated drive systems and operational assistance technologies. It is intended to support more efficient handling of intermodal units during rail-road transshipment.

The Berlin-Großbeeren terminal is directly connected to the Berlin–Leipzig rail corridor and has road links via the B101 to the A10 motorway. It currently serves combined transport flows from German seaports and eastern European routes.

DUSS has stated that the installation is intended to strengthen its ability to handle increased volumes at the site.
