ÖBB Rail Cargo Group, a subsidiary of the Austrian railway company has announced the expansion of its TransFER Villach-Italy network to include two new destinations in Italy. The company is now offering services to and from Treviso and Frosinone, bringing its existing network of eight destinations in Italy to a total of ten.
The new services between the Austrian city Villach and Treviso will run one round trip per week, providing a major transhipment point for goods and the hub of goods traffic between northern and southern Europe. In contrast, Frosinone will be operated on request, providing a vital railway junction in the Lazio region, allowing goods trains to travel between different regions of Italy and to other European countries.
RCG's TransFER service now transports goods across the Eurasian continent with around 60 TransFER connections, more than 700 TransFER combinations, and many customizable routes. Transport units range from full-load shipments and intermodal transport to complete customized solutions. The TransFER Villach-Italy network provides a comprehensive transport offer for conventional rail transport to and from Italy. RCG is offering integrated transport and warehouse logistics, including end distribution, throughout Italy in partnership with local logistics centers.
