Rail services on the Budapest-Miskolc-Sátoraljaújhely, Hidasnémeti, and Budapest-Eger lines are facing significant delays.

Early on Tuesday morning, a collision occurred involving a freight train and a gravel-transporting semitrailer truck at the Kossuth Lajos Street crossing near Adács, resulting in disruptions across multiple train lines. The incident caused a derailment of the CD Cargo Class 230 locomotive, which affected four of its axles. Rescue helicopter was called to the scene. Recovery operations are underway and expected to extend over a longer period due to the complexity of the derailment.

To manage the situation, the affected sections between Vámosgyörk and Ludas have been closed to train traffic, prompting the introduction of replacement bus services.

Replacement buses started operating on several routes: between Vámosgyörk and Füzesabony, and between Hatvan and Füzesabony, to assist stranded passengers. Additional bus services are also in place to cover the route from Vámosgyörk to Ludas, ensuring minimal disruption to daily commuters and travelers.

The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the sequence of events leading to the accident.
