The headquarters of PKP CARGO S.A. are currently undergoing restructuring, and all seven of the Company's plants, which previously operated as separate units, have now been formally merged.

Since 1 August 2025, PKP CARGO S.A. has been operating as a single employer in the process of restructuring. The changes introduced are intended to increase efficiency, improve operational effectiveness and generate savings.

"The integration of our structure will bring many benefits to the Company. It is anticipated that savings will be generated in processes and resources. Furthermore, the quality of services and competitiveness will be enhanced. The objective of these changes is to establish a new organisational structure that will be efficient, effective, flexible and cost-optimal. This strategic realignment is expected to enhance PKP CARGO's financial performance and competitive positioning," says Agnieszka Wasilewska, President of the Management Board of PKP CARGO S.A. in restructuring.

As part of the restructuring, PKP CARGO has streamlined both its core and support functions—including commercial, transport, maintenance, HR, IT, procurement, property, and security. These changes are expected to reduce administrative and operating costs, unify HR policies, and improve the company’s flexibility—key goals in strengthening its performance.

Functions like purchasing, warehousing, and HR, which were previously handled at each plant, will now be managed centrally by dedicated departments. Maintenance units responsible for rolling stock will be integrated into the Rolling Stock Office, while infrastructure teams will fall under the newly designated Infrastructure Office.

“We believe these changes will make PKP CARGO more consistent, efficient, and focused in achieving its goals,” adds Agnieszka Wasilewska. “This new structure gives us the flexibility we need to stay competitive in today’s demanding rail freight market.”
