According to the Novosti Donbassa agency, the "DPR" group said that the fire was caused by shelling.
Eyewitnesses report that the fire started around 9:30 p.m. after several explosions near the Postnikovo railway station. The fire reportedly spread to residential buildings.
The DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the outbreak of 12 fuel tanks on the railway track and the roof of the railway station. 10 fire trucks were engaged to eliminate the fire, and a fire train from Ilovaisk was sent to the scene.
Kyiv Independent published that a fire broke out due to shelling and an explosion occurred in the area near the railway station in the city. The target was a train with fuel for the Russian army.
But there might be other wagons with unknown loads, according to another witness on the Telegram social network:
"As you can see, not only 12 railway tanks with fuel were burned. There are also carefully hidden freight cars in which something was transported for the needs of the front," wrote nickname andriyshTime on Telegram.
