The control units will be deployed in traction control applications on the VLocity diesel multiple units operating in Australia.

Selectron Systems has received an order for 40 control units from Cummins Inc. Australia for use in traction control systems on Alstom VLocity trains. The contract represents the first joint commercial success following duagon’s integration into the Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems division.

The companies state that the project combines Selectron’s and duagon’s capabilities in embedded electronics, software, and communication, control and signalling technology.

Selectron and duagon now operate within Knorr-Bremse’s Rail Vehicle Systems segment. The companies report that the collaboration on the Cummins order involved teams from both organisations, reflecting closer coordination after the integration.

Alstom’s VLocity trains are used for regional passenger services in the Australian state of Victoria. Cummins supplies traction-related systems and components for rail applications, including power and control equipment.
