Five direct trains operate daily in each direction between Graz and Munich. The route is complemented by a daily Nightjet service linking Graz with Berlin overnight.

Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) have introduced an ICE 4 trainset into service on the Graz–Munich corridor, strengthening long-distance links between Styria and southern Germany.

The 12-car ICE 4 offers 444 seats, including 77 in first class and 367 in second class, along with eight bicycle spaces and four wheelchair spaces. The train is equipped with onboard Wi-Fi, a digital passenger information system and integrated lifts to support step-free access.

The deployment follows the opening of the Koralm Railway, which has reduced journey times within southern Austria and improved connections towards Germany. Travel time between Graz and Klagenfurt has fallen to 41 minutes, while Graz–Munich journeys are scheduled at under 5 hours 40 minutes.
