On 23 May 2025, the city of Valencia is hosting an important event for people working in European rail and freight. It is called the Keepers Summit 2025 and it is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the International Union of Wagon Keepers (UIP).

FAPROVE, the Spanish member of UIP, is organising this year's event. It focuses on the industry's strategic push for digitalisation, cross-border rail, and greener transport solutions.

After 24 years away, the summit shows how important Valencia is as a logistics hub in the south of Europe. The day's agenda includes high-level panels, updates on the TEN-T corridor, and a live demonstration of the DAC (Digital Automatic Coupling) system. This is a technical leap that will transform rail interoperability across Europe.

The main topics are railways, roads, getting things from one place to another, how well different countries can compete, and new ideas from the government and business. Industry giants like Voith, ADIF, ERMEWA, VTG, and Trans Italia SpA share insights, while important transport routes like the Atlantic and Mediterranean are discussed with EU Commissioners.

The summit also serves as a key platform for dialogue between transport companies, infrastructure managers, and shippers—fostering collaboration across the logistics chain. It seamlessly blends policy-focused sessions with practical business discussions.
