Renfe adds another country to its international activities. After signing the MoU with Empresa de Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE), it will further study opportunities for railway operations in this South American country and the potential for the sale and rental of rolling stock.
The collaboration areas also include feasibility studies for new railway routes, planning, design, marketing, management, exploitation, operation and maintenance of freight and passenger service on the rail, and training of railway personnel.
In the initial steps, the agreement mentions renting diesel multiple units and electric trains and selling spare parts.
