A-Train AB, the company operating Sweden’s Arlanda Express service, has selected SISCOG’s integrated planning software to streamline train and staff operations on the Stockholm–Arlanda Airport route.

A-Train AB, the operator of the Arlanda Express rail service between Stockholm Central Station and Arlanda Airport, has selected software provider SISCOG to modernise its operational planning and resource management systems.

The new digital platform will cover the full operational chain — from timetabling and fleet management to crew scheduling and day-to-day dispatching — helping to improve efficiency and service reliability on the 20-minute airport connection.

The system will integrate three of SISCOG’s modules — ONTIME, FLEET, and CREWS — creating a digital twin of the operational area, including stations, tracks and platforms. This will allow planners to simulate scenarios, optimise staff rosters and coordinate train movements more effectively.

According to Maria Morwall, Chief People Officer at Arlanda Express, "the goal is to increase flexibility and efficiency across our operations, using a single intuitive tool that supports our focus on passenger experience and service quality."

The project includes system integration with Trafikverket’s TAP-TSI interface, cloud deployment, and a multi-year maintenance agreement. SISCOG’s solutions are already used by several European passenger and freight operators, including in the UK, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Serving as a dedicated airport link, Arlanda Express complements Sweden’s broader rail network, connecting seamlessly with SJ’s national long-distance trains and SL’s regional commuter services at Stockholm Central Station.

A-Train AB operates the Arlanda Express under a lease agreement with the Swedish state valid until 2050, providing one of Scandinavia’s most punctual rail services and a key component of sustainable access to the capital’s main airport.
