The long-standing relationship between Wabtec and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) signed another chapter for the future. The US manufacturer just signed an agreement to provide service kits and parts for 150 Wabtec CM20EMP locomotives (known as CC206 in Indonesia), along with overhaul kits supporting the localisation of overhaul and remanufacturing services. PT Imeco Inter Sarana (PT IMECO) will locally support Wabtec in the execution.
The program includes materials stocking and planning methods, innovative transportation methods, and state-of-the-art tracking mechanisms.
The multi-year agreement is worth 190 million USD. Wabtec has been supporting the state-owned operator of public railways, PT KAI, for over 70 years, with 350 Wabtec locomotives in the fleet of the operator.
